Liberty's Spirited Effort Falls Short vs. Lewis

Liberty showed improvement in many areas, but a big rushing night from Lewis County's C.J. Rahming lifted the Minutemen to a 34-20 win over the Mountaineers in the season opener for both teams on Friday night. Rahming rushed for 314 yards and 4 touchdowns for LCHS which overcame a 7-0 first quarter Mountaineer lead. Elijah Jones scored on a 1-yard run for LHS to open the scoring. The game was tied at 14 after Zach Davisson caught a 6-yard TD pass from Shay Noss. Noss would add a 2-yard TD run in the third quarter to close the Mountaineers to within 26-20, but Rahming would run 13 yards for a score to put the game out of reach. Liberty travels to West Union to face Doddridge County next Friday night.
