East Stomped by Rival West
fourth during the 89th annual East-West game. Although East Fairmont was the undisputed
underdog, the Bees came out fighting. East was 3-6 going into Friday's match up, and was
playing for nothing more than pride. Hopes of going to the playoffs had been halted, so
upsetting the favored team was the fire that pushed the Bees to an impressive three quarter
game against West. East forced two first half turnovers and blocked the extra point from
Aaron Fetty's early touchdown. However, in the fourth Fairmont Senior came together and
scored 21 points, ending the game at 30-6.

Young Bees Have Some ExperienceAfter making a run to the state semi-finals in 2007, last year East Fairmont finished with a 4-6 record. Injuries played a key role in that mark, but the young players that filled in now have valuable experience as they enter the 2009 season. Only 1 full time starter returns on offense for coach Bill Haddix. The Bees open the season on Thursday, August 27 with a home date against the Elkins Tigers.
